Festival of Cycling and Walking

Stirling Festival of Cycling and Walking is back for 2019, with a fun filled day of free activities for the whole family to enjoy. The annual event will take place at Stirling High School, Torbrex Farm Rd, Stirling FK8 2PA, on Sunday 11th August from 10am - 4pm.

Topping the bill are The Clan, Scotland’s cycle stunt team. They’ll perform death-defying stunts, from crazy flips to big drops at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

There’ll also be lots of opportunities for families to test out their own cycling skills, from taking part in the Pedal for Parkinson’s charity bike ride, which kicks off at 8am, to tackling bike tracks suitable for kids of all ages.

Families are also encouraged to bring along their own bikes for expert advice and bike safety checks by Recyke-a-Bike’s Dr Bike.

We’re offering a wide range of tasters to inspire everyone, of all ages and abilities, to get more active. We’ll have everything from balance bike activities for the little tots and e-bike trials for adults who want to boost their pedal power, to led bike rides and a pump track where you can tackle bumps and jumps. We'll have adaptive bikes from Get Out Get Active which is is a fun, friendly and inclusive project which aims to get people, of all ages and abilities, active within their community.

There’ll also be a chance to try out Nordic Walking with a trained instructor, sample food from local producers, go on a nature walk and show off your football skills in our pop-up football pen. And as if that’s not enough, we’ll also have a free bouncy castle, free face painting, storytelling sessions and the GIST road safety truck to explore!
