How do you get to the shops?
If it’s not far, could you leave the car at home on your next shopping trip?
Shopping for food is one of the everyday journeys that we can help you to do more easily by bicycle or on foot.
Looking for ideas on how to carry your shopping by bike?
Now you can borrow a pannier bag to try out on your next food journey. If you just need milk and bread we have small ones you can try; we also have a pair of larger panniers to fit a weeks supply of groceries. Pop in to the Hub to ask about trying out the panniers.
There’s also a wee bike trailer for those times only an extra set of wheels will do! You can use the booking form or just get in touch if you'd like to find out more about trying out the bike trailer.
Are you interested in shopping more locally?
Local food that’s in season has been shown to be fresher, healthier and more environmentally sustainable than many items in big supermarkets. Forth Environment Link runs Stirling NeighbourFood, a weekly online food market where you can buy a wide range of local food & drink including organic vegetables, fresh sourdough, artisan cheese, fresh-from-the-farm milk, free-range eggs, high welfare meat, tasty cakes and snacks along with many vegan and gluten-free items, and much more... What’s more it is up to you how much you buy and how often!
